What is mindful hour?
Shopping can be busy, noisy and involve a lot of sensory experiences (for example bright lights, loud music, conversations, physical contact etc). For many people this can feel overwhelming and lead to sensory overload. You don’t need to be autistic or have a disability to experience this.
Why is Paperchase doing it?
Paperchase has a group of colleagues known as the Diversity & Inclusivity Partners, and they champion initiatives and changes that can help Paperchase to be a more diverse and inclusive employer and brand. One of the initiatives to come from that group is the mindful hour. The purpose is to create a welcoming environment for customers that may prefer to shop without so many sensory inputs.
When is mindful hour?
Mindful hour is every Sunday, for the first hour of trading in Paperchase standalone stores. Trading hours may vary by store and time of year, so please check your local store’s opening times here before making a visit.
